Video killed the blogging stars...
Sometimes an event occurs which forces an individual to reexamine a long held belief system. Sometimes images bring to our consciousness important insights that words are simply incapable of adequately conveying. Sometimes a video provides a truth we would not otherwise believe without having seen it with our own eyes...

Oh, man. I totally fell for that. I should not have. But I did. I hit the play button. It's so automatic. I even questioned why where was no actual picture on the YouTube screen like there usually is.
Well done!
dorky dad, I don't think you are going to be the last one sucked in...
Its all in the wording.
Count me as one who was fooled, silly boy.
Why come the video buffer so long? Unless I experience life through an embedded YouTube clip it not real to me. Cookies truck swingset monkey cup. Candle sticks!
I fell for that one. I am so gullible and you are so sly.

Okay, you got me. I bet you're pretty proud of that one aren't you funny guy? hahaaha
Well, I didn't "challenge my belief system," but...d'oh!!!
Ohhh man. . . .
I think I bruised my chin, I fell so hard.
You stinker.....dang you got me....Urgh!!!!

after all the people you tricked, your blog title should be "frustrated audiences killed the blogging star who posted a dummy video and encouraged them to click play with the title called video killed the blogging star"
Belated happy April fools!

Oh, what evil lurks in the hearts of men?

Haaa!!! So twisted! I love it!
Wow Dirk you are a real stinker. I tried to post a comment on your more recent blog entry and couldn't.
You can delete this and not post it.
I do agree with your post. I was never able, financially, to go on a vacation. I would sit at my desk at work and listen to the wonderful stories of Cancun, Hawaii, and cruises to far off ports. I saved my money and when the opportunity came, I took off. Not to any of the above named places but to a small town in Belize located near the Guatemalan border.
Of course, every one at work thought I had lost my mind. They brought up diseases, small fish that will swim in your urine to your bladder, leaches, and wild animals. They tried every trick in the book to make me change my mind.
Instead of sitting on a beach I was sitting on top of the highest temple, El Castillo, in Xunantunich (Maiden of the Rock.), totally blown away by the restored Mayan glyphs. I walked, climbed and skidded through, Che Chem Ha, a Mayan pottery cave and sat in total darkness feeling more calm and peaceful than I had in years. I searched for ticks in Cahal Pech (Place of Ticks) which was the home for an elite Mayan family. Tikal was a placed I knew I would return if given any opportunity. I wanted to spend the night on top of one of it’s temple but was not able to do so. The experience, the education, the absolute wonder is indescribable.
My advice for everyone is this: Give up the creature comforts, immerse your entire body in bug repellant, and go places that others will not go. The candirú is only found in the Amazon River, which is on my list of places to go – want to join me?
