Today's weather...

Ellen seems unaffected by the storm.

It’s been a couple of rough weeks and I’m not just talking about the weather. My Pregnant wife has been suffering from terrible back pains and neither one of us has been getting much sleep. So, I don’t know if it’s a lack of sleep that’s making me see things or if someone at my local television station has a very odd sense of humor.

Now, I don’t know what the weather has been like in your neck of the woods, but I’m a little worried about what might be coming to Ohio. Take a look at the weather map in the lower right hand side of the television screen. It appears as if some sort of masculine storm front is moving into the area. Judging from the erect nature of the system I’d guess it is accompanied by stiff winds.

If the phallic shape of the storm is any indication at all, I certainly do not wish to be caught outside during the flooding; after all it looks like it could be a real pisser. Yes, if this thing doesn’t ease up soon we could be in for a real pounding.

This is the kind of day you’ll probably want to put on your rubbers and a slicker before headed out of doors.

Sorry, I guess that was a bit of a stretch.

And that’s a look at the weather; now let’s get back to the news.

(Is there any way this could be related to global warming?)

LOL. Weather sucks all across North America right now - the temperatures are freezing water fountains in Arizona.

That stated. I hope your wife feels better. A little lower back rub and hot water bottle?

How to embarrass your child. When Scott, middle child, was going out on a rainy day to shoot pool with the boys. I very calmly hollered at him (with his friends present) "Honey, don't forget your rubbers." You should of seen the look on Scott's faces and his friends too. Then he caught on and explained it to his buddies.

I am sorry to hear about the back pains. What does the doctor say? Is everything alright?

I am in between Galveston and Houston and we are getting a little ice storm.

Looks like a storm may thrust through your area. It also looks like it might get into many different positions.

LOL!

We set record highs here on Saturday and Sunday and had windchills below 20 today. It is impossible to stay abreast of things when the weather gets this wacky. It's tough to know whether or not you need to use you muff.

I hope your wife feels better soon.

We have been one storm after another. Hurricaine winds, rain, then snow, the freezing, the wind, and on it goes. Global warming...not sure part of me thinks maybe so...but weather as I understand it(and my understanding is minimal) goes in cycles. I jus think we are in one of the cycles. Personally, I am liking the change. Sure beats continual rain all winter.

As for your wife, yes try using the magic bag and a nice lower back massage.

Hi Dirk and Wife
Sorry to hear about the back pain, but although it may not relieve the pain,it is a highly common symptom in pregnancy --it'll be over soon!and you'll have a beautiful baby to love and cherish. Re:pain relief,I've heard of this special pregnancy pillow that alliviates pain when you sleep, check it out at http://www.hi-baby.co.uk/acatalog/Pregnancy_Pillows.html
Hope she's better soon and that the weather picks up too...

That's funny, cold weather usually has the opposite effect!

"Significant shrinkage, Jerry!"

Anyway, how interested would Ellen be in such things, anyway?

I hope your wife feels better. My wife had lots of back pain during our second. Lots of back rubs. The best thing for her was warm hand lotion (micro waved or placed in hot water on the stove) then a deep muscle back rub.

About the weather – that’s what we get for having a nation infatuated with Viagra. LOL!!

Stay with the weather; the news is even worse. Give a hug or a backrub to your wife for me--what a drag. And yeah, Al Gore didn't invent the internet, but he does have a point about global warming.

I was stuck in Colorado for 4 days because of freezing rain and then 17 inches of snow.

Now I am stuck in Colorado because Missouri is a mess.

Global Warming is my answer because it is a strange weather season.

It's gotten plenty cold here in southwestern Illinois. We had planned a weekend trip to central Mo. to see a college friend but ice storms there put the halts to that. So we painted the living room instead. Nice way for obsessive decorators to spend a housebound weekend.

That storm sure looks like a big one!! I am so happy that you recieved a 'Heads Up' from the weather center!

Bahahahaha! You are too funny!

As for the wife unit, she should take a warm shower. Let the water hit her back and than get her a heating pad. No baths!! They are not good for pregnant women. The temperature of the water can over heat her body and the babies temp.

Hopefully the baby isn't laying on a nerve! Ouch!!

I wish you all the best!

Yucky about the back pain!!!! I remember that all too well. What may help her is getting a tennis-ball and placing it against her lower spine (her sitting backwards on a chair, leaning against the back of the chair) and you pressing the tennis ball into the lower vertabrae or two. That's similar to what DH did when I was in labor with DD with nasty back labor. Really helps.

As for the weather, Dude, you are NOT alone! The weather sucks pretty much across the nation. Stay warm, stay dry, and stay safe!

I'll just wait it out 6 months when it's 115 here. Then I wont be so cold.

8==> Hmm, sorry, lost control of my keyboard there.

Weather has become a very "difficult" and "hard" thing to deal with lately in all states. I do believe that it has something to do with the end of the world. The sky is falling!!!!

New York has spring-like weather, and CA and TX are frosted up.

Talk about having "blue balls".

I don't remember that many floods back when I was in Ohio.

All I remember is lots of controlled substances and loose women.

Oh, and lots of C-minuses at Ohio State.

Maybe there are several reasons they call it, "High Street."

(Gee, I actually kind of miss it!)

All that talk and you might be confused for Dirk Diggler (from the movie 'Boogie Nights'). I hope the weather is not too HARD on you. If a SHAFT of cold air COMING into your area BLOWS you down, HEAD for warmer climates. GO DOWN to Florida and LAY in the sand.

See? This, right here, is why we tip cows.

Sorry about your wife's back pain. I tell you, the whole pregancy thing....it can make women scary irritable. When I was in labor, in the process of giving birth (a beautiful moment supposedly) I said something to the doc that was so bad, the nurses had to walk away from the delivery table because they were laughing so hard. But it's ok. I'm a nice girl now.

Tell your beloved wifey that I totally empathize with her pain- I had a cist on my spine during my third trimester of pregnancy and believe me it was NOT FUN! There was really only one position that was remotely comfortable, and it wasn't a practical position to be in for very long!
It will be over soon, and she will say it was all MORE than worth it!
I'll pray for her!
